Turner Falls Trip

I thought I’d talk a little about my recent trip 2 Sundays ago to Turner Falls Park, it’s a smallish park in south Oklahoma. Since I was still living in Denton (moved back to Austin last Thursday!) I decided to go on this trip as kind of a last North Texas memory. I know my last post was about my Colorado trip, but travel logs aren’t the only thing I have in store for this blog!

These are the 2 most decent photos I managed to get on the trip, in my opinion. Most were really blurry or too bright or dark. The first photo is of an abandoned castle at the site, built in the 1930s, and then of course the main attraction: Turner Falls.

I drove with 2 friends, it was about an 1hr  and 30min drive, so not too bad. The biggest downside was probably the cost of admission, being $12 per person. I also decided to buy the tickets ahead of time since on the Turner Falls Instagram, they warn about the park reaching capacity.

Here’s what I brought:

  1. homemade tuna salad
  2. bread
  3. strawberries/melon
  4. cooler
  5. pack of beer
  6. sunscreen
  7. towel
  8. swimsuit/shoes/shorts
  9. you get the idea

We kept things minimal, and were able to walk around with all our things no problem. Overall, it was a really relaxing trip. I’m glad I got to go as a farewell to my North Texas time. The best part may have been the HUGE rainbow we saw on the drive home.

Best,

Valarie
